Congratulations to the participants of the inaugural Columbus International 5K run and walk! It was a beautiful day, and all of us at the Columbus International Program and Kiwanis Club of Columbus were glad to share it with you.
For those who missed it, there was a fantastic turnout of over 150 runners, helping us to raise over $2000. These proceeds will both benefit the Eliminate Project - a joint effort by UNICEF and the Kiwanis Club to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus - and help assist the operations here at the Columbus International Program.
In addition to all of our volunteers, we would especially like to thank Premier Races, whose efforts significantly contributed to the success of the event. Also, we would like to extend our thanks to the Franklin County Veteran's Memorial staff, Karina Nova of Channel 10 News, the Columbus Police Department, as well as our many sponsors: Atlas Butler, White Castle, Kiwanis Club of Columbus, Alexander Financial Planning, and Engague.
This was not only a great local community event, but one which celebrated the diversity of the world. There were participants who represented many countries, including: Ukraine, Senegal, Slovakia, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Brazil, Japan, Greece, the Philippines, Poland, Germany, Peru, Scandinavia, South Africa, Pakistan, Russia, England, Portugal, France, and others.
For both this year's participants as well as those unable to attend, we hope to see you next year!
Check the results of the race!
